Your Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and regulating environmental standards as established by Federal Environment Health and Safety Agencies to ensure plant compliance with Federal and state laws. You will serve as the plant liaison and official representative in maintaining positive working relationship with EH&S; agencies, while interacting with outside environmental consultants and regulatory agencies in interpreting and providing technical environmental information to ensure plant environment conforms to proper regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for direct supervision of ethics/electrical personnel responsible for maintaining related equipment and systems.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with State and County Environmental Health & Safety Regulatory agencies (EH&S;) and serves as plant’s spokesperson with on-site inspectors, explaining and providing information regarding plant’s efforts to comply with required specifications.
  • Interacts with EPA agencies * Interacts with EH&S; consultants in performance of EH&S; consulting activates at the facility to ensure there is adequate exchange of information in maintaining plant’s environmental standards to minimize business risk.
  •  Prepare internal and external EH&S; documents and reports as required by compliance requirements
  • Serves as plant’s official representative at Hearings and Board meetings conducted by the regulatory agencies.
  • Periodically conducts internal inspections and audits to maintain EH&S; compliance on an ongoing basis.
  • Collects EH&S; samples and submits them to an authorized testing laboratory for analysis. Reviews and interprets results of analysis appropriate action to take if risk areas exist.
  • Maintains required EH&S; reference materials at the facility. Keeps abreast of changing regulatory federal and/or state laws.
  • Develops outline and conducts internal training of employees in appropriate EH&S; areas.
  • Verifies and prepares EH&S; shipping documentations in accordance with regulatory requirements and manifests documentation required for hazardous material.
  • Supervises force responsible for maintenance of SIMS equipment.

 

Reporting Relationships:

In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager. 


About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in Environmental Studies
  • 3-5 Years of relevant Environmental Experience Required (In California - DOT Trained required, CA Haz training required, VEE certification required)

There may be some travel associated with this position for training and/or project work.
