Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Administrator

ABLE Manufacturing & Assembly is expanding! We are looking for skilled, motivated associates to join our team. 

Able Manufacturing & Assembly is seeking a competent Environmental, Health, and Safety Administrator to fill a recently vacant position at our Company. Able Manufacturing & Assembly is a single-source provider of finish-painted or gel-coated fiberglass composite, aluminum, and steel parts for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's). This position will report to the Human Resources Manager with additional environmental reporting duties to the President. Able possesses two high-volume EPA permits for both of our plants in Joplin. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Conduct and Maintain Safety Training:

  • Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Lock-out/Tag Out, Confined-Space Entry, etc...
  • Ensure training is in compliance with relevant company and OSHA standards
  • Daily and Periodic safety audits
  • Store and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the company
  • Stock and maintain plant first-aid kits
  • Pricing and administering of annual hearing tests
  • Monitor, Issue, and Conduct PPE Assessments
  • Respirator Fit Tests and medical clearance for respirator usage
  • Issuance and control of safety glasses and earplugs
  • Regulatory compliance with State/Federal Agencies
     

Federal/State Compliance Reporting:

  • OSHA reporting (300 and 301 Log, accidents, near misses)
  • Title V Emissions Reporting
  • Maintenance, Inspection, and reporting of hazardous waste streams and shipments
  • Assist with Environmental Tier II Reporting
  • Coordinate Annual Wastewater Inspections
  • Annual DOT Hazmat Registration
  • Stormwater Reporting
  • Universal Waste records management and inspection
  • Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Systems Inspection and Maintenance
     

Oversee Safety Incident Reporting and Worker's Compensation Processes:

  • Incident reports, investigations, and summaries with corrective actions
  • Administer first-aid for minor injuries
  • Filing worker's compensation claims with WC insurance company
  • Manage all documentation regarding WC insurance claims

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years Environmental/Safety experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA certified trainer
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Safety discipline
  • Educated in Environmental Management Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and vendors
     

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Lead change management
  • Knowledge, anticipation, and maintenance of company Safety and Environmental needs
  • Ability to interact and support with company management and production staff
  • Team building and anticipation of company needs
  • Proficiency in MS Office - specifically MS Excel
