Our Global Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability, & Security (EHS&S) Organization is looking for a dynamic individual to join the global team as an Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS) Sr. Manager. 

With locations in Asia, Europe and the Americas you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing environment and sustainability procedures/efforts, programs, processes, and systems to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements and to eliminate or minimize waste, raw material use, utilities and lead sustainability efforts globally.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Champion environmental sustainability initiatives and demonstrate influential leadership at all levels of the organization
  • Direct and oversee the collection of environmental sustainability data collection and be responsible for annual public sustainability reporting and disclosures Sustainability Report, CDP Etc.)
  • Drive understanding and implementation of the Cooper Tire EHS&S Excellence System.
  • Design, develop and implement procedures, programs, processes and systems that ensure Environmental compliance, and enhances environmental performance.
  • Drive execution of tactical and strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with internal and external cross-functional partners in researching sustainability issues, trends, concerns, or stakeholder interests
  • Develop specific environmental and sustainability processes, procedures and or policy in support of company-wide initiatives and direction. Lead goal setting, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Drive permitting, environmental training, management system assessments, and compliance programs
  • Drive environmental remediation/liabilities to closure and manage financial reserves
  • Direct third-party consultants to improve operational efficiencies, compliance, and sustainability efforts,  
  • Assure competency and quality of facility level environmental resources and develop/mentor talent. Promote knowledge transfer through teams, best practices and training.

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree in environment management or related field (masters preferred), environmental certifications, a plus
  • Minimum of 15 years environment/sustainability experience
  • Strong familiarity, understanding and experience with EH&S management systems
  • Experience in diverse manufacturing and distribution environments
  • Strong experience with EPA Title V permitting, global air permitting, hazardous waste management, recycling, state and federal reporting, regulatory training and waste water treatment
  • Strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal, State and Provincial environmental agencies
  • Self-starter, self-directed and able to work independently
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Must have sound judgment, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to roll up the sleeves to develop and deliver practical solutions.
  • Clearly and succinctly communicate, market and sell practical EHS&S solutions to all levels of company/business/and facility personnel.
  • Proven leadership skills; the ability to inspire, build consensus, and work collaboratively across all functions and at all levels of a global organization.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter, with experience presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, EHS Data Management Systems
  • Requires up to 50% travel, including international.
