The Environmental Manager will help manage and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive environmental management system and create a culture supporting sustainability.

This person is responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and implementation of ISO14001. In addition, responsibilities will include creating and implementing PENA environmental goals such as recycling, energy efficiency and reduction of hazardous waste and materials in support of Panasonic’s environmental goals.

Essential Duties:

• Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to chemical management, hazardous material storage, hazardous waste, recycling, air compliance, and sustainability

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards

• Prepare and submit timely and accurate environmental reports and permitting requirements as needed

• Conduct routine audits to identify any deficiencies and develop appropriate corrective actions to assure the protection of the environment and maintaining full compliance

• Serve as a technical consultant/subject matter expert for environmental questions, concerns and compliance issues

• Effectively interfaces with personnel at all organizational levels, along with state and federal regulators/officials

• Manage contractors supporting environmental programs and waste services

• Develop Key Performance Indicator metrics for review and performance monitoring

• Develop and implement written environmental, health & safety programs, policies, and procedures

• Create, implement, and achieve company environmental goals focused on hazardous chemicals usage, hazardous waste generation, recycling and energy reduction

• Evaluate, advise, and stay current with emerging environmental regulations, compliance issues and best practices

• Perform other EHS duties as needed including but not limited to hazard assessments, incident investigations, safety inspections and assistance with evacuation and emergency response


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

• To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred


• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited four-year college or university

• Preferred: Masters preferred

Essential Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in Environmental programs

• Experienced with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines, including CAA, CWA, EPCRA, RCRA, DOT, and OSHA

• Knowledge of Environmental management systems such as ISO 14001

• 3+ years of progressive manufacturing/operations experience in a high pace/high volume manufacturing environment

• Self-starter, with general instructions

• Work effectively and efficiently in a cross-discipline environment as well as independently.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment

• Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines and goals

• Superior communication and interpersonal skills

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

• Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles

• Skills in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement mindset

• An appreciation of and an ability to positively resolve issues arising from different cultures

• Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and 6S principles
