Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Regional Manager - Europe

This position is based out of Western Europe (open to Germany, UK, Ireland, or Italy).

Key Objectives
Lead the growth of the Chubb Environmental, Health, and Safety consulting business in Europe
  • Deliver Industrial Hygiene and Safety services to existing clients
  • Expand existing relationships with current multinational clients
  • Sales: identify, support, and close opportunities with local clients
  • Sourcing: Develop a pipeline of well-qualified candidates and partners to support growth

 

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Assess client’s operations to determine scope and type of business, processes, materials used and products produced/services performed to anticipate and recognize actual and potential loss exposures (occupational disease and injury) even the most in complex of situations.
  • Determines adequacy of hazard controls in operations/processes through interview, onsite observation, loss/incident report review, audits of existing safety and health programs, analysis of policy, programs or procedures and through evaluation (observational/measurements, sampling, modeling and/or calculations) and comparison to existing applicable standards or by developing standards where none exist.
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of clients and relevant programs and determines probability of loss, determines needed control recommendations and strategies. Determines the appropriate controls/intervention(s) based on the clients’ hazards and problems, and recommends them to the account's management. "Sells" the account's management on implementing the intervention using sales methods.
  • Able to use technology to provide state-of-the-art risk assessment and control methods to clients. Assists clients on implementation of interventions through informational consultation.
  • Act as a strategic partner with Account Managers, and regional operations. Works with those partners in development of business plans and goals, providing IH/Safety services to anticipate, recognize/identify, evaluate and control of occupational injury and illness exposures for clients facilities within the assigned territory or in other areas as requested or needed.
  • Acts as a technical resource on industrial hygiene/occupational disease/safety exposures for Account Managers and clients.

 

Leadership

  • Provide local support to facilitate winning new business opportunities
  • Work with clients and partners to negotiate and solidify contract terms, onboard employees and execute on project plans
  • Evaluate the performance of outsourced consultants and affiliates
  • Identify and foster cross-sell opportunities for other Environmental, Health, and Safety services
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with new strategic  subcontractors

 

Metrics

  • Near Term: Billable Hours / Personal Revenue
  • Mid Term: Expansion of multinational and local business
  • Long term: Regional revenue and profit

 

Qualifications

Science or Engineering Degree or equivalent; professional Health, Safety, and Environment certification(s) are preferred, specifically CIH, ROH or equivalent.

10+ years’ experience

Languages: Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of other languages is a plus

 

Reports to: Managing Director (US-based)

This position is based out of Western Europe (open to Germany, UK, Ireland, or Italy)

Approximately 30% travel is expected
