Plant EHS Manager

This position is for Pactiv, a company of Reynolds Group Holding Inc.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of EH&S Tasks including but not limited to:  Leading the local OSHA and EPA Compliance activities, Managing Work Comp Claims with our Third-Party Administrator, Initiating, driving, and managing key injury prevention activities, collaborating with others, Engaging associates, and Monitoring and managing our leading and lagging indicators.

  • Performs safety related administrative tasks, to include compliant program recordkeeping, equipment procurement, Workers' Compensation case management, and responding to inquiries.
  • Develops, evaluates and maintains effective health/safety policy and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, these activities include but are not limited to Safe Operating Procedures, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tag out, and JSA's.
  • Administers facility environmental activities including scheduling, tracking and reporting, planning, sampling, and regulatory permitting for environmental assessments, and investigations to ensure corporate & regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls, recommending corrective action to maintain safety and effectiveness.
  • Maintains effective relationships with regulatory agencies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BA/BS degree preferred in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental related discipline and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Have knowledge of Process Safety Management, Title V, NPDES and Storm Water Pollution Programs, Hazardous Waste Management.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy w/ knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Certification preferred (CIH, CSP, and/or CHP).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional business hours as needed. Our locations operate 24/7 and the ideal candidate will have the occasional need to be in the facility during non-traditional business hours.
  • Must be able to work at other locations and overnight travel.
