Regional Safety Manager

Valet Living is looking for a Regional Safety Manager to be based in Baltimore, Raleigh, or Atlanta. This position involves 75% travel east of the Mississippi.

Job Description Summary

The Regional Safety Manager will be responsible for the occupational health, safety and loss control management for all associates east of the Mississippi. This position will have the opportunity to develop a world class safety program in a fast-moving dynamic environment.

The Regional Safety Manager will work closely with all levels of management and hourly associates to ensure safety and health work standards and methodologies are communicated and targeted goals are achieved through individual as well as team-based objectives and strategies. The Regional Safety Manager will also work with the Regional Management Team to ensure implementation and continuous improvement of safety and health processes and systems consistent with policies and performance standards as well as compliance with applicable regulations. This person will also serve as a catalyst and expert resource to promote and develop an innovative and proactive safety culture within each organization. Specific duties include:

  • Providing expertise for local management regarding safety and health issues andapplicable regulations
  • Advising and assisting local management in implementing, managing and auditing within the framework of an innovative Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Being an action figure in shifting our safety culture from rules and regulatory compliance to a safety culture developed as a behavior driven value at all levels of the organization.
  • Providing oversight expertise for incident investigations, development of corrective plans and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence
  • Ensure timely reporting and claims management for workers compensation, general liability and automotive liability
  • Work with VP of Operations East in determining strategic initiatives and developing policies/procedures
  • Experience in providing testimony, and in-depth investigation and analysis of injuries/incidents
  • Identify corrective actions where/when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years multi-site Occupational Safety experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing, implementing, and coaching on Behavior Based Safety programs
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • High level of computer proficiency in MS Office products
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 and CFR 1926 regulations
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Nationally recognized Safety and Health Certifications highly preferred (ASP, CSP, CIH)
