Regional Safety Manager [KC-10997]

A leading Building Services organization is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to oversee the New England region. This role will have oversight for a diverse array of mechanical and electrical project work across Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and represents a great opportunity to work for a multi-billion dollar, blue-chip organization who have an excellent safety culture and commitment to continuous improvement. 

This role can be based from a number of different office locations in the Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island areas.

The Role:

  • Driving safety excellence and positive culture change in the New England region across a very field-based workforce; coaching and mentoring employees of all level when it comes to working safely
  • Developing and improving safety programs, initiatives and improvement projects at regional level; implementing the business safety strategy and goals effectively
  • Closely monitor leading and lagging safety performance metrics to identify trends, areas for further improvement, and progress against safety goals. Provide recommendations to company leadership on corrective actions
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of safety awareness at work-site locations out in the field; conducting specific safety training based on needs
  • Directs incident and near-miss investigations, including the identification of root cause and subsequent corrective action plans. Develop communication of lessons-learned to share on a business-wide scale

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree is essential; ideally in a Safety / EHS or related discipline
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in safety, with significant experience within a multiple-facility environment. Ideally, candidates will have had exposure to managing a similarly field-based, rather than static workforce
  • Candidates coming from a manufacturing or consulting background will be less relevant, by comparison
  • Ability to travel 50-60% on a local scale, within the New England area
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, coaching and mentoring skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach to safety management
