  • A growing and well-respected company with 12 global sites has a new opening for a Senior level Industrial Hygienist for their plant 45 minutes from Indianapolis.
  • This position will initially lead site Industrial Hygiene programs and compliance and then grow with the role into a multi-site, Corporate Industrial Hygienist in the future.
  • The Senior Industrial Hygienist leads advanced sampling and monitoring and influences the future strategic plan for Industrial Hygiene at this site and other company sites globally.  Program Leadership will be in new chemical management, Respiratory PPE, SDS, Hazards and communication, New Product reviews, Allergens and other areas as needed.  The Senior Industrial Hygienist is responsible for ownership and administration of the Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Fire and Life Safety programs for this site and laboratories.
  • Industrial Hygienist Key Objectives:
  • Provide safety and industrial hygiene technical support for the plant. Examples include: evaluating process and equipment changes/modifications, supporting incident investigations, conducting chemical or new product programs and hazard analysis, supporting capital projects, local procedure review and development, and developing and implementing exposure assessments and control solutions, updating PPE Assessment, etc.
  • Recognize, evaluate and aid in the control of personnel exposure potential to chemical, physical, and biological hazards encountered in the workplace. This process includes the use of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques
  • Aid in compliance assessments as well as providing leadership of safety and industrial hygiene programs. Assume the role of the subject matter expert for key HSE programs, which include development and maintenance of site level HSE programs, procedures and training. Interact/participate with Corporate HSE technical staff and involvement on corporate and/or network teams.
  • Assist the business components in assessing the containment capability of current assets, and improve them.
  • Develop, maintain and oversee execution of a comprehensive site exposure assessment strategy and plan.



  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, HSE or related field. Preferred Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Minimum of 3 years of Industrial Hygiene and relevant HSE work experience (ergonomics, safety, program management)
  • Regulatory knowledge, experience and competency with respect to state/US regulations
  • Currently a Certified Industrial Hygienist or within one year of achieving certification
  • Experience leading Industrial Hygiene in a manufacturing setting, preferably an Organic Chemical Process, Chemical or Biological Laboratory environment or similar biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills that includes leading projects at a minimum of one site, preferable at multiple sites.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
