Site Safety Coordinator

Lee Mechanical Contractors has a project in Hannibal, MO which has an immediate opening for an additional safety professional.  The client is a general industry customer; however, the site has both maintenance and construction activities running simultaneously within our organization. 

The job expectations are as follows: conduct morning safety meeting/toolbox talks with the site crew, assist with work area permitting, assist crews with PTP (Pre-Task Plan) completion, work area safety audits, attend scheduled client scheduled meetings, conduct site safety and equipment training,  create “High-Risk” JSA for the designated high-risk tasks, distribute and gather new-hire paperwork and issue PPE to employees.

The expectation from the client is to see our safety team in the field.  This position will be primarily a “boots-on-the-ground” roll with an expectation to spend 80% + of the day in the field communicating with employees, checking active permits, and ensuring all safety and health rules are being followed. 

This position is expected to run through the end of year, and possibly longer.

Qualified applicants will have experience in site safety supervision, safety and equipment training, and an ability to communicate with field employees in a manner that coaches them into correct safety practices and behaviors.  Familiarity with the SafeStart Program and/or an OSHA Authorized outreach training credential is a plus.
