Position Summary: Responsible for implementing and supervising EHS activities while raising employee awareness. Responsible for a specific function or specialized field within EHS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage multi-plant, wastewater, waste management and remediation programs to assure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and to control compliance costs.
• Ensure environmental programs comply with state, federal and local regulations and provide technical expertise in these fields.
• Responsible for the timely preparation, submittal, and maintenance of required records, permits, and reports, in accordance with established guidelines by local, state, and federal agencies and corporate guidelines.
• Assist plant operations and technical services in process troubleshooting, project reviews, change management, and other areas.

Education and experience required:

• B.S. Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering. MS degree is a plus.
• 5 years experience, as full time employee, of chemical or industrial manufacturing company.
• Environmental waste and wastewater regulatory program and permit management experience required. RCRA Part B permit permit and program management highly desired.

**Groundwater remediation program management experience a plus. Ability to support conformance with PSM (Process Safety Management) and RC (Responsible Care) standards is a plus

• Demonstrates understanding of federal and state laws associated with environmental and safety
• Applies strong detailed analytical skills to effectively solve problems
• Demonstrates excellent written, oral and interpersonal talents, and effective negotiation skills
• Demonstrable ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, develop appropriate time lines, and work to deadlines
• Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, and positively influence others
• Demonstrates strong self-initiative and self-teaching
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Able to tolerate high stress levels
• Plant process improvement experience is a plus
• Demonstrates effective computer skills (MS Office suite)
